The St. Regis Mauritius Resort Review : Hotel for self travellers

by Miguel Gluton March 19, 2018
    written by Miguel Gluton

Of course, there are countries that we are visited for the search of adventure, and not in order to lie on the loungers around the hotel, but if we take into account Mauritius – then this is the place where the hotel is an important component.

I do not think we should expect something supernatural from the hotel, considered in this example. But let’s not forget that we are self travelers and we need to try to choose something different from solutions that the travel agents offered to us.

Let’s see some photos and then we’ll come back and look how the hotelier described its own hotel.

So, how does the hotelier describes the location of the hotel:

The St. Regis Mauritius Resort is nestled on the legendary Le Morne peninsula at the far southwestern tip of the island of Mauritius. Overlooking sparking white sand beaches and a pristine turquoise lagoon, the peninsula was added to the World Heritage List by UNESCO in 2008. Nearby, myriad caves, steep slopes, rare plants—including the Mandrinette and Trochetia boutoniana—and a singular 500-metre-high basaltic rock define the surrounding area’s dramatic natural beauty. Additional outdoor destinations include Black River Gorges National Park, La Vanille Crocodile and Casela Parks, and Pamplemousse Gardens.

What follows from this description? – Right, – This is more for relaxation adults. Young will be boring, as the hotel is small, probably young adults will prevent sleep adults at night.

    Let’s read about entertainment:

Aside from the captivating scenery, consistent offshore breezes make the area a top spot for kite flying or kite surfing. The translucent waters also draw visitors and locals in search of ocean activities ranging from big game fishing, undersea walking, and swimming with dolphins to sailing, snorkelling, diving, and more. For an extremely memorable adventure, there are helicopter tours and skydiving adventures. A day trip to the nearby Île aux Cerfs, meanwhile, reveals some of the region’s most breathtaking beaches, while just 20 minutes away Tamarina Golf Course presents the island’s most pristine golfing experience.

Let us now turn our attention to what is around us near the hotel:

Choice of entertainment is big enough, it is said that at least in the daytime  we’ll not die from bore.

Supplementary enriching cultural activities include visits to the village of Charmarel or Aapravasi Ghat monument and shopping at either the Bagatelle Mall of Mauritius (45 kilometres away) or Cacavella Shopping village (25 kilometres away). A tour of the Chamarel Rum Factory provides insight into the island’s rich history while horseback riding and four-wheeling add to the array of endless recreation options.

If we decide to buy any souvenirs we have to get 25 kilometres to a Shopping Village, To the nearest sightseeing we have to do  even greater distance of 45 kilometers.

    Сonclusion

So, as I described his suggestion above, The St. Regis Mauritius Resort is an ideal vacation for most adults. Young people will be in it rather boring, except for the young people who come to The St. Regis Mauritius Resort to spend a honeymoon. Entertainment during the day in the hotel, in principle, a lot, but the hotel is far enough from the Shopping Village and attractions. If you choose this hotel for the independent travel is necessary to pay attention to all these factors, in order to not make a mistake!

Overall, The St. Regis Mauritius Resort I liked the description and photos, but I’ll be ready to visit him at the moment when I would be interested in peace and away from everything.
