The Kwai River, Thailand – “Paradise on the Kwai River”, this word is usually will say Thais by offering this tour to travelers.

Let’s start our review with the fact that River Kwai, Thailand is one of the most popular places to visit all the tourists who come to Pattaya or Bangkok.

On the way to the Kwai River, Thailand

Excursion to a Kwai River long enough, the full trip takes 2 days. Most of the 2 days you’ll spend on the road, and 1 night you’ll spend on the river.

I enjoyed this tour, for the simple reason that I basically like the big way with good company.

We started the way from Pattaya, on the way we visited several temples, we played with the monkeys, we stopped at the elephant’s farm, we visited a workshop of wood carving and visited the homes of local people.

About each of these places I can write a separate article, but we are interested in the Kwai River.

Given that, along the way we made a lot of stops, the road passed quickly, but by the end of the way, we were very tired.

The Kwai River, Thailand: Raft Houses.

After we visited our room, we were offered a ride down the river on a raft.

At this point, the fun began …

Adventures on the River Kwai, Thailand

Plaut is a rather interesting place – it was swimming plaut and a bar and a place for recreation and entertainment. We were offered dinner, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and then we set sail on the River Kwai.

I want to note at once that the river Kwai based in the jungle. Every now and then I thought that elephant or a leopard pops out of the jungle, but on this day I got lucky and only flying birds and jumping monkey i found in the jungle.

After a short swim, Thais invited us to jump into the water. I, at first, was afraid, because imagine what the Kwai River menace me by snakes and piranhas and other fauna, which I still do not know. This is Thailand – you can expect anything!

After the non-durable confusion, I wore a life jacket and jumped into the water. The feeling was not compared with anything – I was in the jungle, in the river Kwai and I carried over into the unknown. The current was really strong, rather just the strongest, the river carried me to nowhere and, at one point, I was even scared.

River Kwai Thailand, Kanchanaburi: River Houses.

At some point, I saw a beautiful waterfall and a berth where the Thais clung with his hands. I realized that this is the place of salvation. But catch the pier was not so easy for me. Some people were swept down the Kwai river, so I was one of the lucky ones who did not have problems to go out of the water.

When I got to the dock, the Thais offered me a drink of traditional Thai tea.

Dock was next to the wonderful waterfall. I really wanted to cool off in the crystal clear mountain water, so I immediately did it.

The atmosphere was fun, people were happy, they jump from the pier, someone drinking a beer, someone drinks tea.

River Kwai Thailand, Kanchanaburi: Rafting.

On the way back, I felt magical things around. When we sailed back to the River Kwai to our hotel on the water, the jungle showed to me a fantastic night colors and images. River was illuminated only by one flashlight, which was on the raft. Every now and then I seemed jungle bizarre forms like animals, people, some strange creatures, in a general sense the mysticism and fantasy flight surrounded me on all sides.

Suddenly we heard a bump and a raft stopped. All the people on the raft certainly had fun, but I was still gripped a small panic. I am in a foreign country, in the jungle, on the River Kwai, nobody knows where, at night, on a raft, besides it sat on the bottom of the river. This situation added adrenaline. Raft of course was fixed, but the feeling remained in my head for a long time.

We returned to the floating hotel. All what I wanted at the moment – is a snack, a drink and make a Thai massage.

Massage was the way, I relaxed and went to the room.

River Kwai Thailand, Kanchanaburi: Magical Night.

To Spend a night on the Kwai River in the Hotel on the water – it is no less interesting sensations.

You are slowly rocking on the waves, you hear the sounds of the jungle, you are completely relaxed after a Thai massage, with all of this – you feel yourself in completely safe. My dreams was very colorful and lively. I analyzed in my head  all this trip and, in parallel, I had a fantasy that drew me more and more bizarre images.

I woke up fully recovered, though, I went to sleep very late. Journey to the Kwai River and the night in the hotel on the water I really liked.
